Kambo is a ritual from the Amazon rainforest that involves taking the venom from a frog called *Phyllomedusa bicolor*. This venom induces a powerful purging effect (sweating, vomiting, diarrhea) to eliminate toxins from the body. It is a true purge that lasts about 30 minutes. This "detox," through poisoning, allows for a deep cleanse of the liver as well as other parts of the body, both physically and subtly. I underwent the Kambo ritual a few years ago, and this work was created just after that session. It reflects an intimate experience laid out on paper to share a fragment of it: Inside out!

It is a true work of art both in terms of production, the beauty of the instrument and the sound it produces. This drawing tells of my encounter with this instrument. When I play it, I feel accompanied by many spirits blowing and participating in the rhythms and melodies produced. The great profusion of details transcribes the harmonic range of the instrument, the finesse and precision as well as the richness of its musicality. I also tried to put its essence and musicality on paper using my outlines. The study of the line pays homage to the precision work that such an instrument must have required to be produced. detail 01

I created the work "Foresta" a few years after my apprenticeship in traditional Amazonian medicine. This drawing shows what I can perceive when I am in the forest, including the spirits, their worlds, and their mischief. For me, every tree, every stone is alive, conscious, and full of humor and wisdom. I have a special affinity and connection with trees, which I portray by personifying them on paper. The work is large and highly detailed to convey the precision of my visions, taking over three months to complete. The abundance of lines and details is intended to encourage the viewer to look from both afar and up close, allowing for an immersion in the world of forest spirits. It also makes the work feel real and tangible. The viewer can then read the work like a story, a book. Detailed Perfections

Nowadays, especially in the West, many proclaim themselves as shamans without true training. Here, Teddy underwent a genuine shamanic initiation, the traditional learning of the plant medicine of the Shipibo-Conibo, which included two years of isolation on a plant diet, alone in the Amazon rainforest. In this series, he invites us to delve into his training, discovering the personal and universal realms of master plants that heal and teach. A connection to the spirit worlds and their subtle planes.
